Aino - Colombian light roast coffee

Aino is a Colombian light roast coffee: smooth, sweet and nougaty, with notes of green apple. If you are looking for a gentle, fruity light roast coffee that works for both filter and espresso, Aino is your coffee.

This light roast Colombian coffee charms with its rich sweetness and smooth, nougat-like character. The cup opens with green apple and fresh fruitiness, yet the whole stays gentle and round. In the background there is a milk chocolate softness that makes the mouthfeel silky and pleasantly full.

We especially recommend this coffee for filter brewing, where its natural sweetness and clarity come through best. It is also excellent as espresso when you fancy a lighter, fruity and smooth, slightly different espresso experience.

About the coffee

In the mountains of Colombia, coffee grows on small family farms where every harvest is more than just work for the grower: it is part of everyday life, tradition and pride. When the coffee cherries are hand-picked and processed on the farm itself, the coffee gets exactly the character that makes Colombia such a beloved coffee country: diverse, nuanced and genuine.

Behind this coffee are several smallholder farmers, countless microclimates, bold experiments and the growers' own vision of how to bring out the best in the bean. Every lot is a little different, but they all share the same honest flavour and careful craftsmanship.

Excelso is a Colombian export grade that tells you the green coffee beans are uniform in quality and have few defects. It means medium-sized, carefully sorted beans that make a clean, balanced cup without big surprises. The EP marking next to Excelso also tells you the beans have been hand-sorted, which reduces defects even further. The Excelso grade and hand-sorting make sure the cup is clean and balanced: a coffee that doesn't make a fuss about itself, but which you notice from the very first sip. Warm, clear and nicely nuanced.

Choose this coffee when you want something approachable but distinctive. Works with or without milk.
