About Sammon’s origin
This coffee from the Chanchamayo region of Peru is produced together by many smallholder farmers and has a balanced profile, typical of South American coffees. Thanks to the high altitude and the region’s unique conditions, the coffee develops a rich flavour and a nuanced character.
And what about the name? Here at the roastery, our coffee names aren’t pulled out of a hat. They come from the streets of the Kirjala neighbourhood! Did you know that our roastery used to be located in Kirjala, on Jukolankatu?
So Sammon got its name from Sammonkatu, and wouldn’t you know it, we’re running out of Kirjala street names! Jukola, Louhi, Sammon... However deep we dive into creativity, Kirjala is just about used up. Are there good street names in the neighbouring district, or will we start making up our own? Maybe not, but one thing is certain: the coffee is always perfect, whatever its name!
