Jukola is an Ethiopian dark roast coffee: full-bodied, chocolatey and sweetly berry-like. If you are looking for a dark roast coffee that still has berry notes, Jukola is your coffee.

This sweet dark roast coffee offers a new kind of flavour experience for dark roast lovers. You can taste the sweet berry flavours typical of Ethiopian coffee, but roasted dark, a soft dark chocolate aroma comes through. We recommend Jukola for filter brewing methods, especially pour over, which gives you a wonderfully full-bodied, dark berry flavour.

The origins of Jukola

Founded in 2018, the coffee producer community Boledu takes its name from the local word for "source". Boledu's founders, Abyote Ageze and Mebrahtu Aynalem, have over 12 years of experience in coffee. Boledu has produced high-quality coffees with various smallholder farmers at its own washing stations in the Guji zone, Dimtu Hamblea, Yirgacheffe, Aricha and Gedeb.

Boledu's owners Abyote Ageze and Mebrahtu Aynalem have worked with farmers for a long time, and before every harvest the producer community trains the farmers in specialty coffee standards. Boledu also pays smallholders more than the market price, as long as the farmers deliver consistent, ripe cherries. Quality controllers at the washing stations monitor the quality of the coffee cherry lots the farmers bring in.
