About the origin of Jukola

Founded in 2018, the coffee producer community Boledu means "source" in the local language. Boledu's founders, Abyote Ageze and Mebrahtu Aynalem, have over 12 years of experience in coffee. Boledu has produced high-quality coffees with various smallholder farmers at their own washing stations in the Guji zone, Dimtu Hamblea, Yirgacheffe, Aricha, and Gedeb.

Boledu coffee producer community owners Abyote Ageze and Mebrahtu Aynalem have worked with farmers for a long time, and before every harvest, the producer community trains the farmers in specialty coffee standards. Boledu also pays smallholder farmers a higher compensation than the market price, provided, however, that the farmers deliver consistent and ripe berry quality. Quality controllers work at the washing stations, monitoring the quality of the coffee cherry batches brought in by the farmers.
